Natural Household cleaners

The rind of a lemon is exceptionally bitter, w...
There are many “common” household ingredients that make for simple household cleaners.  These are frugal and green alternatives to cleaning!
Basic cleaners with a high pH like soap or baking soda can be used to clean food stains and general dirt.  Acid cleaners with a low pH like vinegar, lemon juice and club soda can be used on water spots, soap scum and rust.
Baking Soda: Neutralizes odors, removes soap scum, dissolves dirt, unclogs drains and cleans ovens.
Liquid Soap:  Cleans everything!
Vinegar or Lemon Juice: Vinegar is very mild and removes hard water deposits from glassware, dirt from windows, rust stains and even tarnish!  It can also be used to clean your dishwasher and HE washer. Lemon juice has a mild bleaching property so it can even be used to whiten.
Club Soda:  Is a mild acid which can be used to clean windows, mirrors or glass surfaces.  It is also a great stain remover.
